Whilst away on my travels to Edinburgh, the furthest north I've ever been, I found myself not only a bargain... But an emporium. A vintage emporium infact. Armstrong's Vintage Emporium to be completely accurate. Thoroughly recommend visiting all three of their stores in Edinburgh if you're around those parts. I could have spent the entire 4 days there but was kind to my boyfriend and narrowed it down to just a few hours... A day.

I'm finally on Etsy
After being housebound for the last 3 days, with only the occasional trip out for the essentials (wine), I have finally got some items onto my Etsy shop! I won't lie, it's been hard work, with more than the odd stressful moment, but I've enjoyed it and am feeling pretty pleased with myself tonight. Now to sit back... And finally turn the laptop off!

Soon be February...

Back after a lovely relaxing break in Edinburgh (details to follow) and feeling a little loved up... This piece of typographic genius just about sums it up I think! Got me all inspired to get crafting for Valentine's Day...

Next year's Christmas present?

A spot of bedtime Etsy browsing has led me to this gorgeous vintage 70's secretary dress by vicmizzy. What a shame Santa's been and gone...
Quick mention
Just a quick update for now... A big happy birthday to the man in my life for yesterday! He's helped a lot with prep for my new website so he deserves a mention and a thank you I think.

Sneak peak
Preparations for my website and Etsy shop are well and truly underway. Here's just one of the pics from yesterday's photoshoot, watermarked and all! Taking a while to get everything perfect and screen-worthy but things are now coming together.

Also spurring me on is the arrival of some new fabrics soon to be made into cosmetic bags and shopping bags. Watch this space...

Great start to 2011
Success in the kitchen! As you can see the blackboard paint worked a treat and is also magnetic as promised. Let's hope that the other projects I have planned for this year are as successful!

Not your typical New Year's Eve
Managed to get my hands on some magnetic blackboard paint. Two coats on and I'm poised with the chalk. What to scribble on there first?

How have I only just discovered this?
Blackboard paint... Wow, where have you been all my life? Stumbled across this lovely photo here. Off to B&Q I think...

What to do with dozens of Screen Prints
So what do you do with an ever-growing pile of screen prints? They're no where near perfect so can't be framed or given away...But you lovingly spent hours making them so can't bear the thought of throwng them away.
My solution... Make them into two cute books.

So pleased with how these turned out! Love how every page is different, some have one single design spread over both pages, some have a single page design and others incorporate two design next to each other. No page is the same. Much better than a scruffy pile in the corner!

A Sunny Weekend
Time to show off my creations! Today I took advantage of the lovely spring sunshine (just incase we don't see anymore for a while) and photographed my recent projects.
First of all I was so pleased with how this small change purse turned out that I had to show it off! I got the frame from here and followed this tutorial. With a little adapting of the pattern and lots of glue I finished it! Big thanks to Lisa for the speedy delivery, fantastic tutorial... And complimentary lolly!

This I had been meaning to photograph but hadn't found the right spot until today. It's one of my first handmade journals I made for my Mom. It's made of your standard cartridge paper and covered in my current fave material (incase you hadn't noticed). Loving these journals but finding then increasingly difficult to give away!

Where have you been?
Sorry for the long pause between the last entry and this one. Time for a catch up...
As you can see I've been to The Eden Project...
Very much enjoyed my day here but think it would be much more impressive in the Summer time. Still managed to get a few decent flower pics though.

We were staying in a quaint little cottage in Devon and came back rested, relaxed and wishing we had a garden of our own! Making do with cut flowers at the moment to try and maintain that country feeling!
Was quite an inspiring trip all in all and have been trying out new crafty ventures... Pictures to follow.

A Proper Introduction
To introduce myself properly to anyone reading I'm a UK based designer with a graphic design background but am now finding myself increasingly involved in craft and printmaking.
My aim in doing this blog is to get some feedback about my work and to share my inspirations. So if any of my posts provoke a reaction then don't hold back!
Ok then... Lets get some photos on here.
Screenprinting
I've just finished a screenprinting re-fresher course, here are the results... (More detailed pics to follow)

Cut-Outs
Having received a huge bunch of flowers for Valentines Day last month, I was guilted into making this...
Handmade Handbag
This is a bag I made for my sister's birthday.
I used the Toffee Apple sewing pattern from Melly & Me .

So that's my first proper entry. Comments are most welcome!
